With the first piece Is the Internet Good or Bad?, I found it really interesting how Zeynep Tufekci started the article talking about Edward Snowden. I knew about the leaks at the time and how it made the NSA not look that great, but i don't think I ever fully grasped everything that happened. And I never really knew that what the leaks were about came to be because the internet was a thing. How there was essentially an alliance between the government and the various internet coorperations. I can see know why, at the time with all of this information was coming out, why people could potentially be offput by the internet and not want to use it, as well as being annoyed or angry at the government.
In some senses, Shoshana Zuboff seems similar to Edward Snowden. They are talking about very similar things. But I do think that the two of them are on different levels of the same topics. Both talking about surveillance. Edward Snowden leaking classified information from the government to the public, while Shoshana Zuboff seems to be taking a deeper look into the information that is already available to the public.
